If you’re like me and are waiting for DOOM 4 to finally arrive, sadly we’re going to have to wait a little bit longer. At yesterday’s Quakecon Keynote, id Software Co-Founder John Carmack stated that once the upcoming DOOM 3 BFG Edition ships and is taken care of then the team from that will be moved over to DOOM 4 and the game will be getting worked on in full earnest to get it out to gamers as quickly as they can. As all release dates from id Software, the release date given is “When it’s done”.
So, with the DOOM 3 BFG Edition scheduled to arrive on October 16th, 2012, it looks like we have to be a little more patient for the sequel which is rumored–and if you go by the story of DOOM II–will take place on Earth. In the mean time, they have released a new trailer for the Lost Missions that will be included in the BFG Edition. You can check it out below.
