Can’t get enough Angry Birds? Rovio is hoping not as they have released the retail version of their hit mobile game for home consoles. The Angry Birds Trilogy is now available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the Nintendo 3DS. So how much would you be expecting to throw down to own a big screen version (sorry 3DS) of the popular bird-tossing game that sells on phones for $1? $10 maybe? $15? Okay, $20 would be pushing it in all honesty, but nope, you can purchase the console version of the game for $40 ($30 on the 3DS).
To try and justify the price, it has been said that the mobile version is only 99 cents but the mobile device it’s played on is much more expensive than the Xbox 360 or PS3. I don’t really understand how that justifies it. By that logic, it wold be fine and dandy to sell Infinity Blade for $500 on consoles because it costs more on iOS. GENIUS.
It is a ripoff plain and simple. If anything, it should be nothing more than a downloadable PSN, XBLA, eShop game, but greedy is as greedy does.
Just remember, the best part of having Angry Birds on consoles for $40, is that you can save yourself $40 by not buying it.
