Nuclear War is a classic game for the Amiga 500 from waaaaay back in 1987. At the time it was one of my favorite games to spend countless hours on. It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to play it (about 20 years) but surprisingly enough, the game holds up and is still as much fun now as it was then. In the game, you are the owner of the center island and you face off against the 4 world leaders of your choosing in all out nuclear war.
Each round, you need to choose what actions you want to take, whether it is to warm up missiles or bombers, to set up defenses, build, or try to lure more civilians to your country. There’s always surprising events that happen to keep you on your toes and no game is ever quite the same. Here’s a recent play through with a tight victory that came down to the last city.
I didn’t bother including the five other games where I lost horribly.
