Survival horror is a genre of gaming that always brings the most interesting- albeit bizarre and twisted- story lines to the forefront. Developer Punchline and publisher Atlus are holding nothing back with their latest, the enigmatically titled, Rule of Rose. The game follows the story of a woman named Jennifer who is riding the bus one night. A small child on the bus asks her to read him a story and then quite abruptly hops off, disappearing into the night. Jennifer being more curious than she should be, she goes after the boy, quickly realizing she is where she is not wanted.

Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects

It’s been a long time since there has been a fighting game that features the characters from the Marvel Universe. Marvel vs. Capcom and X-Men: Children of the Atom are some of the greats, but they were part of the previous generation of fighters; the 2D animated side by side style made famous by Street fighter. It took a few years for the Marvel gang to get itself into a 3D setting and their first outing is not quite what was expected. Originally dubbed Marvel vs. EA, Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects pits ten heroes and villains from the Marvel universe against seven totally new creations from Electronic Arts.

Clover Studios has a track record of creating some of the most offbeat and enjoyable games available. Games like Viewtiful Joe and Okami have given the studio a name synonymous with out-of-the-ordinary games that work. Clover Studios have once again teamed up with Capcom to bring their latest quirky title to the masses. God Hand, directed by Shinji Mikami of Resident Evil 4 fame and produced by Atsushi Inaba of the Phoenix Wright series, follows the story of a mysterious man named Gene who –while trying to be a hero rescues a girl named Olivia from some thugs and gets his arm ripped off in the process. Sound a little odd? Well, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
